My name is Andy; I’m 25.
I’m traveling through Europe and Asia. On these pages are photos and stories from the places I visit – London, Paris, Prague, New Delhi, Beijing, Kyoto. (This isn’t a real list. I don’t necessarily know where I’m going until the time comes.)
I graduated from college two years ago and found a job at a Los Angeles daily paper. Things went fairly smoothly there; I was promoted after six months. But, by the handful, people were leaving their jobs – going on leave and not coming back, moving away, retiring. Layoffs loomed. And after a year, I decided to move on as well. There was a world outside Los Angeles – outside the U.S. – waiting for me, and the city’s network of freeways wouldn’t lead me to any of them.
My first stop was Taiwan, where I spent five months alternately studying Chinese and exploring the island. Read just some of my Taiwan posts: my arrival, the Sky Lantern Festival, an encounter at Sun Moon Lake, music in Taiwan, snake soup, and my departure. Or read them all.
At the moment, I’m making my way through Europe. Stick around … there’s more coming.
